In the Volcano collection, the boundary between the vessel and the void disappears. The outer shell, dark and silent as ancient stone, serves as a structural restraint for the fire within. It is not merely a plate; it is a moment of geological tension captured in clay—a testament to the power of minimal geometry to hold the weight of an eruption.

In these works, I have stripped away the narrative to reach what Clement Greenberg described as the purity of the medium. Here, the ‘decoration’ is not an ornament added to the surface, but the organic result of fire meeting clay.
